Making Tax Digital (MTD) for income tax commenced on 1 April 2026 for those self employed or having rental property income, with gross income in excess of £50,000

As at the end of March 2026, HMRC’s figfures indiucated that only 185,000 tax payers had registered for MTD for income tax, which represents only 21% of those taxpayers who should have registered.
