Inheritance Tax and HMRC

The number of estates affected by Inheritance Tax (IHT) is being forecast to increase by 50% by 2030.

The government is forecasting that taxation rasied by IHT will increase from £5.5 billion in 2021/22 tax year to £9.0 billion by 2026/27.

HMRC investigations into IHT have increased from 3,000 to 4,100 iwithin the last 12 months.
