Owing to the impact of Covid, HMRC have announced that the deadline for submitting the 2020/21 self-assessment tax returns has been moved from 31 January 2022 to 28 February 2022.

Any tax return received after that date will initally be subjected to a late filing penalty of £100.

Self assessment tax is however still payable by 31 January 2022 and interst will be charged on late payment of the tax.
