Self Assessment Return Update

For the 2021/22 tax year, there were approximately 12 million individuals who were required to submit self-assessment tax returns. The deadline for filing the returns is the 31 January.

On 31 January 2023, with one day to go until the filing deadline, there were still 2.7 million tax returns to be filed. Many of these tax returns would be submitted late, which would lead to penalties being imposed by HMRC.
