Coronavirus Self Employed Income Support Scheme (SEISS) Grant Extension

The SEISS scheme is available for those self employed individuals who are still trading but are experiencing lower demand due to the impact of the coronavirus.

The first grant, under the extension, will cover the period from 1 November 2020 until 31 January 2021. The grant will cover 40% of average monthly profits and will paid as a single payment. The grant is capped at £3,750.

The second grant, for the period from 1 February 2021 until 30 April 2021, will also be available. Details of this grant have not yet been announced by the government.

In summary the grants available under each of the SEISS grants are as follows:

Grant 1 80% of earnings (May 20 – Jul 20) – 80% of earnings with a maximum grant £7,500.

Grant 2 80% of earnings (Aug 20 – Oct 20) – 70% of earnings with a maximum grant £6,570.

Grant 3 (Nov 20 – Jan 21) – 80% of earnings with a maximum grant £3.750.

Grant 4 (Feb 21 – Apr 21) – details not yet released.
